Frequently Asked Questions:
The files work in other software or earlier versions of 3ds Max?
Yes, but to work you have to export them from 3ds Max to the software of your choice using the extension ".3ds" or ".obj". If you have exported using ".3ds" should join the vertices using a modifier that is similar to "Weld" existing in 3ds Max (all 3D programs have this kind of modifier). Then just set up for the Render of your choice and apply the materials. The mapping will be left in its original format, do not worry.
How to export the files correctly?
Activate the "Faces" feature to select the polygons by Material ID.
Separate these selected regions using the "Detach", the parties were separated already may be exported. This will greatly facilitate the configuration of materials for each "ID" in the software that you will use.
The files work with other Render's?
To use other Render's you must reconfigure and re-apply materials using the specific resources that will be available for the Render of your choice.
The files work in Sketchup software?
The vast majority will not operate. The Sketchup not take very detailed objects, usually the software is only used to draw the basic structures related to civil engineering, is a very limited program.
The files are too heavy?
Yes, very detailed and complex and have high quality materials.
